Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some answers to questions you might have in advance of your stay:

Sixty6 Acres Woombye is in the heart of the Sunshine Coast and is the only property found on Walden Road, Woombye. Our main entrance is clearly signed and entry is via a code operated gate over a cattle grid (code will be provided prior to your arrival). The Quarters are lakeside at the end of the main entrance road and are clearly numbered. The northern corner of our farm is adjacent to the Bruce Highway with access from Nambour Connection Road, just down the road from the Big Pineapple.

Free Wi-Fi is available to guests for reasonable use such as checking emails and web browsing (unsuitable for large downloads).

Sixty6 Acres is a family-run farmstay and we are only open for overnight guests. Sadly, we’re not available for drop in visits nor does our insurance cover anyone who is not staying with us. Whilst we would love to share in what we have created with day visitors, we do not have approvals for this. Overnight guests have the exclusive use of our facilities, accommodation and access to our animals so at times it can feel like you have the farm to yourself.

As with most properties, you’re usually better off booking directly where you will find the cheapest rates and we think we can be more personal than larger booking platforms.

On the Woombye high street you will find a village bakery, butcher, SPAR groceries, farm supplies, numerous award winning cafes, take away options as well as the Woombye Hotel, bottle shop and drive through. Just down the road in Nambour you will find the larger supermarkets and chain stores (Coles, Woolworths, Aldi and Big W).

The Quarters are fully self-contained and come complete with a family-sized fridge, full oven and electric cooktop, dishwasher (you can’t be expected to do dishes on holiday!), microwave, ground coffee and café press, and sufficient crockery, cutlery and cookware to cook any meal. Dishwashing tablets, laundry detergent and kitchen essentials (foodwrap, oil, sugar, salt and pepper etc) are all provided.

Our check-in time is 2pm and check-out is 10am. Late departures and early arrival requests may be accommodated but are subject to our booking schedule. Please inquire at the time of booking and we will confirm 24 hours out.

Sixty6 Acres is 15km from the Sunshine Coast Airport and 100km from Brisbane Airports.

The Quarters have been designed and furnished with the comfort of four people in mind – including infants – in two bedrooms (one Queen and one twin). The Acreage has three bedrooms and can sleep 6 people (two Queen and one twin). Our accommodations are strictly for the number of adults/children as booked – we ask that guests notify us in advance of their arrival if the numbers in their group have changed from their booking. It is very awkward to have to turn guests away if we cannot accommodate the number of people in their party. (Guests may be happy sharing beds or sleeping on couches, but we are not.) We can host group sizes up to 30 people overnight. We kindly ask that you indicate the age of your children in your booking details.

Our farmstay is not approved for day visitors – the facilities, activities and farm animals are provided for overnight guests only. To preserve the enjoyment and amenity for our guests, we are unable to host BBQs, gatherings or events for anyone not listed on the booking. If you have friends or family who would like to share in the farmstay, we are happy to arrange adjoining Quarters.

We are a “No-party” property as we provide a peaceful farmstay retreat. Please advise at the time of booking if you have a special occasion you are celebrating. We request no loud noises after 9pm in consideration of other guests and neighbours.

You are welcome to spend time with our resident animals – they are an integral part of your farmstay experience. Our herd are very friendly but, like most animals, can be unpredictable at times, especially around food. We recommend handfeeding from the other side of the fence to be on the safe side and request that children are supervised at all times. Please ask one of our farmers for a personal introduction if you are interested.

Our lake is fed by rainwater and natural springs and is therefore clean but visibility is variable. There may be some algae build up on the sides which is natural and expected in a rural setting. The maximum depth of the lake is 3m and is shallower towards the sides. Only jumping permitted from the platform – no diving. Please be aware that the lake is unfenced and children must be supervised at all times. Please use the life vests provided while in the water. All activities are undertaken at your own risk.

We have some free non-motorised watercraft available to enjoy our lake (kayaks and SUPs). Please be aware that the lake is unfenced and children must be supervised at all times. Please use the life vests provided while in the water. All activities are undertaken at your own risk.

Your inside fireplace is stocked with sufficient wood, kindling and firestarters for two nights – more wood can be purchased from the Woombye Rural Supplies or local petrol stations. We can replenish wood supplies for longer stays – just let us know.

Golf clubs and balls are available for guests on the kayak stand near the lake. Please return all equipment when not in use.

Smoking is not permitted in or around The Quarters buildings, including decks. Please dispose of your butts thoughtfully – penalties may apply for littering.

The Quarters do not have suitable enclosures for dogs so we cannot accommodate any guest pets. If you would like to bring your own horse, please notify us in advance and we may be able to prepare a paddock or stable.

No, we do not allow motorbikes or other motorised vehicles for the safety and tranquility of other guests. You are welcome to bring pushbikes to ride around the farm or we do have an array of complementary bikes available.

If guests are unable to fulfil their booking, Sixty6 Acres may reschedule their booking if sufficient notice is provided, subject to availability.
